Barry D.E.W. Line® (Dielectric Even Wet) specialized and proprietary products offer unique insulating properties not found in any other rope products and are the result of over two decades of R&D and continuous product improvement. These products are trusted and used worldwide for performing high voltage tasks (AC or DC) such as live-line maintenance, pulling and stringing, bare-hand work, personnel evacuation & rescue, helicopter lift, transport & HEC, and for other critical applications. Extruded thermoplastic jacketed rope made by Barry are dielectric ropes categorized as Category 1 Insulating Ropes. All Barry D.E.W. Lines are designed to perform in energized environments, where there is a risk that they come into contact with energized conductors (phase-to-ground or phase-to-phase).
Category 1 Insulating Rope: Synthetic rope designed, manufactured, tested and maintained to provide primary insulation and to ensure appropriate insulating qualities and is intended to come in contact with energized conductors phase to ground or phase to phase.
